Last week we a had an amazing time with the 5 days detox, thanks for all of you you who followed joined and took the time to do it you guys rock. But this week it’s all about nutrition, super-food as we are getting ready for our Reboot workshop starting on February 1.
While doctors may remind us that prevention is one of the keys to staying healthy, it’s not exactly high on the list of things that are cool or fun. But Turmeric, the bonafide health gold is having it’s moment on many menu, From lattes to cocktails to porridge.
Turmeric is the king of the super-foods boasting an impressive phytochemical profile thought to be as, if not more effective than pharmaceutical drugs. this golden spice is living up to it’s impressive legacy. This potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory is a fantastic spice to support the liver and detoxification pathways. In addition, research is showing that turmeric may have cancer preventative actions, making it a serious super-food not to be overlooked.
Turmeric has a rooty, peppery and slightly bitter taste to it, making it a fantastic addition to soups, stews and of course curries as it’s traditionally used. I also tend to add it to smoothies and juices to boost antioxidant levels. like I did this morning.
In my opinion you should try and get turmeric into your diet any way you can! Those with existing health conditions may benefit from a supplement, or you can try using it like any other kitchen spice in your day-to-day cooking.
Happy Green Life
