Grow Green along with me, the best is yet to be!

Hello  again!

How was everyone’s Thanksgiving?  Hopefully it was as wonderful as mine. I spent the holiday surrounded by very special people and enjoyed eating some of my favorite foods.  “Guilt Free”, That’s what Thanksgiving is all about, isn’t it?
In the past I used to gain 5 lbs after everything I indulged in. Then I would be on a mission to shed that extra weight that would make my clothes feel tight and my shirts a wee bit uncomfortable come January. Now I just make smarter and greener choices, by starting the New Year off right without a weight loss goal in mind.
If your jeans feel quite a bit tighter after the holidays then I think my tips will come in super handy!
Choose your indulgences wisely.
  • Instead of store-bought pumpkin pie or cookies,  make your own using all fresh ingredients. And indulge in smaller quantities of high quality food. Less is more!
  • Don’t go hungry. Eat a small, healthy snack before you go to the party, so you're not starving when you get there. An apple with almond butter or fruit with Greek yogurt are great, healthy, and filling options.
  • When at the appetizer table, opt for lean proteins and fresh veggies first to fill you up before splurging on a less-healthy option.
  • Move your workouts to the morning so you aren't constantly skipping sessions when you have evening plans.
  • Alcohol in moderation. Avoid the sugary cocktails. Wine is your best choice. Drink a glass of water between every single alcoholic drink.
  • Release the guilt. If you do go a bit overboard at your holiday office party, don’t beat yourself up about it. Just get back on track the very next day.

Enjoy!
